WASHINGTON – Home Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Visitor, Republican of Missouri, launched a decision Friday morning to expel Consultant George Santos, Republican of New York, from Congress.
The choice comes a day after the committee issued a scathing report concluding there was “overwhelming proof” that Santos “violated federal prison legal guidelines,” together with utilizing marketing campaign funds for private functions and submitting false studies in regards to the marketing campaign.
“The proof uncovered within the Ethics Committee’s investigation subcommittee is greater than enough to justify the penalty and essentially the most acceptable penalty is expulsion,” Visitor stated in a press release on Friday. “So, exterior of the committee course of and my function as chair, I filed an expulsion decision.”
